ABSTRACT. The convective instability in the rotating hydrogen helium plane layer it considered. The influence of the real spher- plane ical layer curvature is taken into account in the approximation. The effect of the curvature on the convective criteria is analysed. The relationship between the character of instability (monotonous or oscillatory) and physical properties of medium is investigated. It is shown that the description of convection in the proposed model is qualitatively the same as in the spherical rotating layer.
