"Space-time distribution of matter at the epoch Z=0.4--3.5 by analysis of
absorbtion systems in QSO spectra"
A statistical analysis of distributions of C IV and Mg II
absorption-line systems observed in QSO spectra within
the cosmological redshift interval Zabs=0.2-3.2
is presented. The results indicate that the overall
Z-distribution of matter is nonuniform, but statistically
isotropic. The isotropy (or anisotropy) of the distribution
is verified by comparing of independent distributions
of the absorption systems in opposite hemispheres with their
various orientations. There are maxima in the concentration
of absorption systems at
Zm= 0.44, 0.77, 1.04, 1.30, 1.46, 1.63, 1.78, 1.98, 2.14,
2.45, 2.64, and 2.86 (+/-0.04);
and these values are independent of the direction of observation
(within statistical uncertainty).
The resulting distribution of absorption matter resembles
successively embedded spheres corresponding to these Zm
values. The most probable origin of this distribution
is the appearance of more pronouced epochs
with durations about 200-600 million years
(depending on the choice of cosmological model)
in the course of cosmological evolution.
