SciSim v2.0.4 is a bug fix release of SciSim and contains only minor changes compared to v2.0.3. The input (configuration & data) files, as well as the ODF products are compatible with previous versions.

• ODF changes

EXTNAME keyword did not comply with ODF ICD 2.0. Changes made in SciSim v2.0.3 are reversed; that is, the EXTNAME keyword contains instument specific fields, like M1,M2,R1,R2

INSTRUME keyword may specify the instruments EMOS2 and RGS2, depending on the camera name specified in ESIM/RFCSIM (see SPR 372 and the ESIM/RFCSIM help documentation)

CCDNODE in the extension table 2 of the auxilary file of RGS is reporting the correct value

WINDOW?? keywords in the RGS ODF files take into account the read-out nodes.

• scisim_config and telescope[123]_config files

In the scisim_config file the default position of the simulator is set back to (7500,0,0).

Only the EPN camera in telescope1_config file relocated to (7500,2,-2).
 

• PN CCD positioning

The CCDs in quadrant 2 & 3 were never illuminated. this was a bug introduced in v2.0.3
 
• documentation

The X-ray background example in the CSIM dcoumentation was specifying wrong flux.
 
• utilities

Added three utilities to work with SciSim:
• image2sources - creates a source-list file from a simple FITS image
• reporter2pha -  converts ESIM/RFCSIM binaries to OGIP PHA files
• reporter2fits - converts ESIM/RFCSIM binaries to standard FITS files
