My main research area is the study of the atmospheric conditions of early-type massive stars, especially in their evolutionary state as Luminous Blue Variables. The LBVs are characterized through their strong spectral and photometric variabilities in timescales of weeks to decades. For one particular star - HD 160529 - the variability mechanisms were observed via high-resolution spectral time-series and modeled with state-of-the-art photospheric and hydrodynamic numerical codes. In another project various LBVs have been observed with a spectral resolution of up to 100,000 in order to examine the spectra for distinct narrow features which gives insights in the structure of the stellar wind and the extended outflows.
