Search Help
Fielded searches:
Only the fields that should be searched have to be specified.
The search is case-insensitive, but only returns entries which contain
a given keyword exactly. That is, searching for Spac will not
find Space. To change this behavior, use a wildcard. A search
for Spac* will find Space, Spacious etc.
Only trailing wildcards are expanded. A question-mark ? is not
a wildcard.
By default, the search uses AND logic. That is, it looks for
entries that contain keywords from the author
field if given AND keywords from the title field if given etc.
To search for entries that contain keywords from the author field
OR keywords from the title, select OR logic. All
fields are either AND-ed or OR-ed.
If multiple keywords are given for e.g. the title field, all entries
are returned that contain either one word or the other or both.
To search for both words as if they were a single keyword, use double
quotes: "Interstellar Absorption". Wildcards are not expanded inside
double quotes.
It is not possible to explicitly search on e.g. author fields that
contain author1 and author2. The search will also return entries
that contain either author1 or author2. However, since the matches
are sorted according to their scores, entries that matched both
authors will appear at the top of the list.
The scores reflect the relative relevance of the matched entries.
Entries that match equally well are sorted according to their preprint
number, with the most recent preprint first.
Searches are automatically weighed. Hits in the author field
precede hits in the title field which in turn precede all other hits.
