Educational Observing in Support of NANOGrav

NANOGrav has a strong track record of involving undergraduate students in cutting edge research. In furtherance of this effort, we are holding an undergraduate student workshop on February 2 and 3, 2015, prior to the start of the winter NANOGrav science meeting at Arecibo. We are requesting at least one to two hours of observing time be allocated from an existing pulsar pro ject and schedule during this student workshop so that participants can learn to observe with Arecibo. Students will gain valuable experience using the telescope and will be certified for remote observing, allowing them to more fully contribute to NANOGrav and the observatory. The data collected during this session will also be scientifically useful for NANOGrav.
