Gps L3 in a2010 data 27sep10

on 27sep10 (22:30ast) 2010 complained that gps l3 was on for an extended period of time:

the vertical scale has a one second resolution.
Each image lasts for 10 minutes
Gps l3 was on for about 26 minutes.

The next plot shows the position (relative to Arecibo's source az,za) of the gps constellation during this time (.ps) (.pdf)

The horizontal axis is arecibo azimuth, the vertical scale is arecibo za.
The plots show the positions of each satellite.
The satellites are labeled with the data yymmdd and time hhmmss (ast) of their lowest za.
the az position is the direction of the satellite similar to the source azimuth of arecibo. The arecibo feed is always 180 degrees from this.
svn 26 comes the lowest in za, but svn15 comes the closest to the current pointing direction.
The telescope was sitting at az=59.7, za=4.88 looking in the direction az=239.7,4.88.

the final plots shows the angular distance between svn15 and the pointing direction of the telescope (.ps) (.pdf):

svn15 was about 10.8 degrees from the pointing direction when the rfi started and 10.5 degrees away when it stopped.
svn25 (the new satellite) was close to the horizon when the rfi was on. I don't know whether is could have been scattering into the beam from the platform.
