The graduate students at RSAA run a public outreach program. We invite schools to participate in astronomy evenings held at the Mt Stromlo Observatory. The program is aimed at primary and high school students and its objective is to foster interest in astronomy.

The program takes place on selective evenings throughout the semester. Upon arrival students are given a presentation and watch a 3D astronomy movie. This serves as an introduction to the main part of the evening, a star gazing session making use of Stromlo's outreach telescopes. To complete the evening there is a question and answer session with professional astronomers.

We currently run programs suitable for primary school students as well high school and college physics classes with group sizes between 15 and 50 students.
