The blue data have been divided through by a stellar blackbody of about 11000K
to remove the detector and grating response. In general the spectra have not
been corrected for extinction.

The red data has been divided by a cool halo giant (having removed the NaD,
CaII and H lines) to remove the detector response, the dichroic response,
and most of the telluric absorption. A few of the early red data was done
with the 1200 line grating but this was changed to the 316 grating
to get better coverage and see the red CN bands. The CaII triplet is visible
in most stars although it gets a bit lost in the strong CN lines in the
coolest (mira) carbon stars.

The spectra have been wavelength scrunched and written to fits files.

Some log files are given for your convenience but the object name
and details of exposure are in the fits headers.

There are additional carbon stars to those in the HESCAR list.
