16/10/2013 October 16, 2013. The largest fragment of meteorite Chelyabinsk (>570 kg) pulled from the Lake Chebarkul bottom.

News:
15 Feb.,2013 The fireball flew on February 15, 2013 at 09:22 (03:22 UTC) in Chelyabinsk region at supersonic speed and with bright flashes of light along the trajectory of the NEE-SWW (Chelyabinsk-Miass-Satka). Acoustic wave brought some minor damages in the form of broken glasses and some damages of old buildings. Lake Chebarkul, village Kuvashi (near Zlatoust) are the probable locations of pieces of the falling bolide. NEW METEORITE FOUND NEAR CHEBARKUL CITY!!!

The resolution of dissertational council Д 002.109.02: the scientific degree of PhD (the candidate of) in geological-mineralogical sciences is awarded to Demidova Svetlana Ivanovna.

Meteorite collection
25 Dec., 2010 39 new meteorites were stoked the laboratory in 2010: one meteorite from Russia (Romashki), 8 meteorites from Morocco, 7 meteorites from Egypt, 2 meteorites from Qatar and 11 meteorites from Oman. There is a number of rare types among them: an iron meteorite with silicate inclusions (NWA 6369), carboneous meteorite of CV3 type (NWA 6368), londranite (NWA 6484), eucrite (NWA 6488). All meteorites have been submitted on registration to the International meteoric nomenclature committee.

25 september 2009 The meteoritic committee expresses sincere gratitude to all people, helping to fill up our collection in a new twenty first century!
