About the f/8

f/8 Optical Tube Assembly

Available in 10", 12", 14", and 16" aperture sizes, the f/8 is a fast optical tube for larger fields of view and shorter image times. It includes a Losmandy-style mounting rail with oversized radius blocks for reduced flexure, as well as a Dual Speed Crayford-style mechanical focuser for zero-image shift focusing. Primary Mirror Lock is included on 14" and 16" models.

About the f/10

f/10 Optical Tube Assembly

Available in 8", 10", 12", 14", and 16" aperture sizes, the f/10 optical tube is ideal for larger image sizes. The long focal length delivers increased magnification, which is ideal for planetary and deep-sky objects. Comes with Losmandy-style dovetail. The Primary Mirror Lock is standard on all models, and includes a single speed mechanical focuser.

Premium Features

Whichever optical tube you choose, each f/8 and f/10 model provides a number of high-end features, including Advanced Coma-Free (ACF™) Optics for pinpoint stars all the way to the edge of the field, Ultra High Transmission Coatings (UHTC™) for maximum brightness and contrast, an Oversized Low-Expansion Borosilicate Primary Mirror for extra aperture and thermal stability, high quality Schott® Borofloat® Glass Corrector Plate, and high contrast baffling for improved off-axis illumination.
