Forgive me for not just lumping these all as "various NOAO spectral
libraries" but I though the different storage formats and associated data
tables would provide for some interesting use cases. Something like a
cutout service might be appropriate for some of the data, the challenging
thing for us however to put all these into an SSA is simply the variety
of local data access methods required.

Cheers,
-Mike

Data Providers (e.g., data centers, archives)

Provider Name: NOAO

Characteristics: 310 ASCII tables of wavenumber vs flux
Storage Format: Text tables
Available online: ftp://ftp.noao.edu/catalogs/arcturusatlas/ir
Comments: Tables contain three flux values (arcturus spectrum,
telluric spectrum and ratio) for both summer and winter
observations. Additional data for atomic and molecular
line identifications. Atlas by Hinkle, Wallace, Livingston,
Valenti, and Harmer.

FITS multispec or binary table images. Linear WCS
Storage Format: Text tables, FITS images, or FITS Binary Tables
Available online: ftp://ftp.noao.edu/catalogs/arcturusatlas/visual
Comments: Tables contain three flux values (arcturus spectrum,
solar flux and telluric transmission used to correct solar
flux spectrum). Additional data for atomic and molecular
line identifications. Atlas by Hinkle, Wallace, Valenti,
and Harmer.

Provider Name: NOAO
Collection: Library of High Resolution Infrared Stellar Spectra in K-Band
Characteristics: Digital spectra for 17 cool stars in the 2.02-2.42 micron
region. The spectra have been corrected for telluric
absorption and are at a resolution >45000. Linear WCS
Storage Format: Text files
Available online: ftp://ftp.noao.edu/catalogs/hiresK/README
Comments: Tables contain one or two spectra and optionally an atmos-
speric transmission function. Wallace and Hinkle 1996 ApJS
107 312.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Provider Name: NOAO
Collection: Library of Medium Resolution Infrared Stellar Spectra
Characteristics: Spectra of 147 MK standard stars covering the H, J, and K
bands. The spectra have been corrected for telluric absorp-
tion and are at a resolution of 3000. Linear WCS
Storage Format: FITS images
Available online: ftp://ftp.noao.edu/catalogs/medresIR
Comments: Spectra are from five papers by (variously) Wallace, Hinkle,
Meyer, Edwards, and Strom.

Provider Name: NOAO
Collection: Coude Feed Spectral Library
Characteristics: Spectra of 684 stars observed with the Coudi Feed telescope
and spectrograph at KPNO. The spectra cover the ranges
3820 - 4500 E and 4780 - 5460 E at a resolution of 1.8 A
FWHM (~60 km/sec). Linear WCS
Storage Format: FITS images
Available online: ftp://ftp.noao.edu/catalogs/coudelib
Comments: Library of stellar spectra covering a wide variety of
spectral types, luminosity classes, and metallicities.
Sample selection was based almost entirely on the availabil-
ity of atmospheric parameters for the stars. Leitherer, C.
et al. 1996 PASP, 108, 996.
