A complicated practically identical system of various large-scale chains and threads crossing each other and joining all active regions on the disk is present on both the SOHO/EIT (a) and TRACE (b) images. Such a detailed coincidence of the chains and threads proves directly the reality of this novel phenomenon of the large-scale solar activity.

One can judge on circumstances of the appearance and development of the chain system by the Yohkoh/SXT (c) and BBSO H-alpha (d) heliograms as well as by a movie presented below.

Such a pronounced evolution of the large-scale chains over the whole disk may be considered as an indicator of the strong evolution and reconstruction of the global solar magnetosphere that resulted in also an enhancement of the CME activity (see the LASCO team CME list ) without any significant flare manifestations. One of the most pronounced CME  in this period occurred on 30 March above the W limb and was accompanied by the large and long-living EUV loop system visible in the above movie.
