Areas of expertise:

1. New microwave techniques and instruments for remotely sensing in the ocean-atmosphere system: mesoturbulence, cloud systems, precipitation, hurricane situations, sea surface state, nonlinear waves interactions, breaking gravity waves. Imaging radar applications in oceanography: detection of oil pollution, internal waves, wind wave spectra.

2. Nonlinear stochastic geophysics of multiscale atmosphere - ocean and troposphere-stratosphere interactions (atmospheric catastrophes).

3. Scaling, fractals and nonlinear variability in geophysics: multifractal models of turbulence, mesoscale intermittency, structures in chaos, nonlinear probable models of global tropical cyclogenesis, simulation techniques. Formation and development of geophysical megadata bases.

      "Remote Sensing in Space Physics" at the Moscow Physics-Technical Institute (Dolgoprudny town, Moscow region) during 1972-2005;
      "Remote Sensing of the Earth" at the Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography (Moscow) during 1992-2005.

2. Carried out scientific supervising of 5 graduate students which obtained the degrees of Candidatus Scientarium (corresponding to Ph.D.)

3. Carried out supporting and supervising of 35 students (B. A. and M. S. degrees) which were graduate of the Moscow State University (Physical Department), the Moscow Physics-Technical Institute, Faculty of Physics and Energetic (Dolgoprudnyi town, Moscow region, RF) and the Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography, Faculty of Applied Space Research (Moscow, RF).
