The FSP3 criteria and plot description

The FSP3 criteria and plot description

The FSP3 event includes those parts of the magnetic conjugations between any couple of four considered spacecraft, which satisfied to the FSP1 or to the FSP2 criterion.
According to the FSP1 criteria the time interval corresponds to the one of the high-apogee SC passage through the simulative boundary layer of the magnetosphere.
According to the FSP2 criteria that part of the FSP1 time intervals are selected, which corresponds to the low-apogee SC passage through the simulative cusp region, or diurnal auroral region or diurnal polar cap.

The value of the relative geocentric angular distance between magnetic field line's footprints is considered during FSP3 situation selection. The mentioned angular distance value less then 5 deg is used as a criterion of the magnetic conjugation. During magnetic mapping Tsyganenko 87 (Kp=2) + IGRF95 magnetic field models are used. The magnetic field line stop trace altitude (km) is 110.

On the plot the time (UT) distribution of the predicted FSP3 events are shown in frame of the current month.

Date is shown along the X-axis, the UT - along the Y-axis.

The special color and the special line in the frame of the current day show the each of 4 participants' contribution in the event:

On the plot the SC names are shown by the corresponding colours.

The summary plot permits to find the simultaneous magnetic conjugations of 3 and even 4 satellites. But it is necessary to realize that some of the multisatellite conjugations (of 4 SC) are simply the simultaneously conjugation of two couples of the satellites in the different parts of magnetosphere. The corresponding numerical files help to clarify each multisatellite conjugation.
