DATA AND PLACE OF BIRTH:
He was born in November 11, 1975 in Baltimore city, Maryland.

EDUCATION:
He graduated from Dulaney High School in Baltimore.
In 1997 he received the degree of Bachelor of Science in computer technology and systems engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
In 2006 he got the degree of Master of Science in systems engineering at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore.

FAMILY STATUS: married, two daughters.

HOBBY: golf, woodcrafting, jogging.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
In 2003 US naval command added him to the list of semifinalists sent to NASA in order to include him as the candidate in the 19th astronauts recruitment. However, he was not invited to Johnson Space Center for a check-up and interview.

In June 2004 he graduated from U.S. Navy Test Pilot School (Class 124) at NAS Patuxent River air station. By the time of being taken on the staff of Astronauts Corps he served as the service head at Strike Fighter Squadron 103-VFA-103 based on aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) and quartered at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia.

On June 29, 2009 he was put on the staff of NASA astronauts corps as astronaut candidate within the 20th NASA recruitment. In July 2011 he finished a two-year general space training course and was certified as astronaut.
On August 24, 2011 it was reported that he had been appointed prime crew flight engineeri of Soyuz TMA whose launch was scheduled for May 2014.
