Today at 12 hours 59 minutes 35 seconds Moscow Summer Time,
the Russian Soyuz TM-33 manned transport vehicle was launched
by the Souyz-U rocket from Baikonur cosmodrome.

The Interstate Commission meeting was held with the aim
to approve the following makeup of the Soyuz TM-33 crews.
The prime crew: Viktor Afanasiev, Commander; Konstantin
Kozeev, Flight Engineer and Claudie Haignere, Flight Engineer.
The back-up crew: Sergei Zaletin, Commander; Nadezhda Kuzhelnaya,
Flight Engineer.

At 5:00 a.m. Moscow time launch vehicle with the Soyuz TM-33
spacecraft was transferred from Assembly and Testing Facility
to launch site.
The Soyuz-U - Soyuz TM system was erected on the launcher.

Integration of the encapsulated Soyuz TM-33 spacecraft with
the Soyuz-U launch vehicle in Launch Vehicle Assembly and

At 15 hours Moscow time the Intergovernmental Commission
and Technical Management Meeting was held at which it was
decided that on October 19, 2001 the launch vehicle with
the Soyuz TM-33 spacecraft would be rolled out from Assembly
and Testing Facility to launch site.

Soyuz TM-33 was inspected and accepted by the crew. The
spacecraft was accepted with no comments.

Vehicle Assembly and Testing Facility for general assembly.

The second Russian visiting crews to the ISS consisting
of V. Afanasiev, K. Kozeev and C. Haignere (prime crew)
and S. Zaletin, N. Kuzhelnaya (backup crew) arrived to the
launch site to immediate training for the flight to the
ISS scheduled on October 21.
