NewsSC Soyuz TMA-20M is filled and mated with the transfer compartmentMarch 9, 2015Today, on March 9, the RSC Energia (a part of State Corporation ROSCOSMOS) specialists successfully completed technological operations to mate the first manned transport vehicle Soyuz TMA-20M with the transfer compartment. The vehicle pre-launch processing under the International Space Station Program is provided at spacecraft assembly & testing facilities (SC ATF) at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. Earlier the spacecraft was filled with propellant components and compressed gases The launch of the Soyuz TMA-20M with the crew of the next expedition to the International Space Station is scheduled for March 19 from Area No. 1 ('Gagarin's launch pad') of the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The main crew of ISS-47/48 includes cosmonauts Alexei Ovchinin (spacecraft commander), Oleg Skripochka (flight engineer, Roscosmos) and astronaut Jeffrey Williams (flight engineer-2, NASA). The backup crew consists of Sergei Ryzhikov (spacecraft commander, Roscosmos), Andrei Borisenko (flight engineer, Roscosmos) and Robert Kimbrough (flight engineer-2, NASA).
