Pulsar - Supernova Remnant Project

Welcome to the Pulsar - Supernova Remnant Project's home page. Projects are the working unit of CSIRO's management structure. We are a project under the Astrophysics Group (Leader Dr. R. P. (Ray) Norris) in the Australia Telescope National Facility (Director Prof. R. D. (Ron) Ekers).

Project definition

To investigate the properties and evolution of pulsars and supernova remnants and their interaction with each other and with circumstellar and interstellar material. For pulsars, there is emphasis on searches, precision timing and polarization observations and, for supernova remnants, the emphasis is on understanding the radio brightness distribution and, in particular, the evolution of SNR 1987A.
