Giovanni Cresci

My research activity is mainly focused on the study of morphology, dynamics and star formation in galaxies at high-z and in the local universe, thanks to the use of new techniques as Adaptive Optics and Integral Field spectroscopy to provide unique insights on the dynamical, morphological an chemical properties of galaxies.
I'm involved in several international projects aimed at providing a detailed view of galaxy formation and evolution at high redshift (SINS, AMAZE, LSD, SWAN surveys), as well as in local low metallicity and active galaxies.
I'm also working on the study of the Supernova rate in local and higher redshift galaxies, and in the commissioning of instruments at the largest telescopes like Lucifer at LBT.
