ARCTIC Notes
Attending: Joe, Alysha, Bill, Alaina, Conor, Suzanne, Russet

- Cart discussion · 16 turns per inch, will have a drill hookup · Cart detaches and rolls out like Spicam. · Inst sits on two kinematic cups. Is there a way to make sure things don't get stuck?
Or a latch to make sure the cart doesn't lower when not attached to the telescope? Joe will add a latch.

· Umbilical -- Jack wondered how they will be handled. Joe assured us that it has
been arranged, the umbilical comes out the back of the instrument.

· Range of motion--It would be much more expensive to add rollers to the cart. Can
we allow the cart to be lowered further to allow easier filter changes? Joe can make that change, but it will require the drill to get through the large number of turns. Otherwise, it won't have the required amount of torque.

· The nicfps cart would be a good direction to aim. We would like the crank motion
to be more coarse. Gear ratio can be swapped out after the fact. Start with 1 to 1 and go from there.

- Pre-commissioning · Are we running cables up from the intermediate level? Yes, will work on ordering
any long cables we need. Should be some Sloan spares to use, but will need to be flushed etc.

· The vented umbilical will probably not be ready yet. · Joe wants to run the cryo lines inside the vented umbilical. Bill would like Mark's
input.

· Will we use the Spicam umbilical hole, or drill a new one? Bill is leaning towards
drilling a new hole.
