Tech o con discussion
Attending: Alaina, Mark, Russet, Joe, Suzanne, Nick, Conor, Bill, Alysha

- Vendor Update -- Joe · STA -- Chip at ITL for thinning and coating. Should be complete in 2 - 4 weeks,
based on STA estimate. We will know more about quality when Lesser is done. It does not need to go back to Leach. Expect it to be installed in April.

· Filters -- Quotes received from Astrodon. They will be just under $20K per set for
SDSS and Johnson. Lead time is 8-10 weeks so we should get those ordered soon.

- Astrodon quote is a little high, but they are higher quality. They use a different
coating technique than Custom Scientific. Better performance, accuracy, flatter glass. We will go ahead and order the Sloan set, and order Johnson afterwe see the quality. We will take spectra measurements ourselves when the filters arrive.

- Specs common to all filters: · 130 +/-0.1 mm with a clear aperture of 127 mm · Substrate is 3 mm +/-0.025 fused silica · TWF <= 1/4 lambda per any 25 mm square area before coating · Parallelism is <= 0.5 arcminute before coating · Coated to the edge of the part · AOI 0 deg. · All filters edge-blackened. · CVE -- They have machined all the small parts of the shutter but the CNC is down
so the main housing is on hold till they get it working, maybe by Monday.

- The material for the main housing is expected in 1- 1.5 weeks. We have
changed the manufacturing so that the outer circumference will be water jetted and then cleaned up at CVE then machining will start on the detailed features.

- Joe is getting ready to head to APO. There is a computer that will substitute for an
ICC until Fritz can get the purchased one to work. He will focus on it next week. 1
