With not much fanfare, the Monitor Telescope was disassembled and removed from the enclosure by Alan Uomoto/JH, John Briggs/UC, and APO staff Jon Brinkmann and Ron Yarger.

These are limited pictures of the demolition's aftermath. Joh Briggs/UC and Alan Uomoto/JH headed the efforts to get the thing disassembled. Picture taking during the demolition was not possible.
The pier is remodeled, finished and prepared for the new telescope.

John has taken the instrument rqacks and additional equipment to storage in Mayhill. The barren walls are left.
