The engineering camera is test-mounted using the plug plate cart and lift. Pat Waddell and Walt Siegmund from UW are helped by APO staff Jon Brinkmann and Larry Fiscelli, with Steve Bastian and Angie Prosapio from FNL.
The enclosure is opened and the engineering camera is riding on the plug plate cart under the telescope.
Work is completed to raise the engineering camera into position. Although you can't see them in this picture, clouds are beginning to threaten from the southeast!
The camera can be seen parked in the doghouse.
The telescope is rotated for position; waterproof sheathing covers the mirror.
The engineering camera is maneuvered under the telescope and the lifting control is activitated.
The camera is lifted to the bottom of the mirror cell, latched into place and th elift lowered.
The camera is latched into place with the cover installed.
