Abstract. Insert abstract text here.

First Level Heading (please use initial caps)

Type text here. Please notice first paragraph is not indented. Use the
style named "ASP_section_para_1" for this paragraph. Please use only the
included styles to format your paper. These styles are accessed by opening
the Styles and Formatting pane (under the Format pull-down menu); at the
bottom of the pane, in the "Show" pull-down menu, select "Available
formatting." Please follow the template's styles carefully.
Subsequent paragraphs use the style named "ASP_para_next" to format
the paragraph with an indented first line.
This Word template is a new development for the ASPCS, please contact
Lisa Roper (aspcstech@byu.edu) with any formatting problems so the template
can be improved.
In preparing the paper, please refer to the "Astronomical Society of the
Pacific Conference Series-Instructions/Template for Authors Using Microsoft
Word," which is also based on this template. General instructions for all
ASPCS authors may be found at www.aspbooks.org/author_information.

Another First Level Heading

Second Level Heading

Another first paragraph, not indented, using "ASP_section_para_1" style.

Another Second Level Heading

Using the proper styles will ensure that headings will be automatically
numbered and paragraphs will be formatted correctly.

Third Level Heading Type text here for a third-level paragraph. The
first paragraph continues directly after the heading for third-level
paragraphs.
However, subsequent paragraphs should have an indented first line, as
shown in this example.

Sample Figures and Tables

Figures

Figures may be inserted into the text using either a blank placeholder
followed by a caption, as in Figure 1, or by embedding the figure into the
document. In either case, a separate figure file should also be sent to
the editors.
As shown, the figure and the caption should be centered between the
margins. Ensure that the figure and figure caption remain together as text
flow changes.

Figure 1. Format the caption correctly by using the "ASP_Fig_caption"
style.

Tables

Keep tables as simple as possible, with single horizontal lines above and
below column headings and a third horizontal line at the bottom of the
table; don't use vertical rules for separating the columns or for table
borders. The table caption appears at the top of the table.
