Some of us will define "good thinkers"
and "meaning" differently than you.

"The problem is, from my experience at college, is that you don't have to understand any of it. Strange as that may sound, that's how the more advanced aspects of physics are, and I will give you two cases in point."

Some of us will define "Understanding"
differently than you. You mention that when you
just concentrated on the math, then it was a breeze. This is true. But it does not prove
there is no meaning in it. It means you and perhaps all humans cannot do math and meaning
in the same phase of learning.
If proportionality of effect, which is one of math's final effects, has no meaning for you,
then "meaning" has no meaning for you.

Someone else, however, does understand something
you do not.
