FIFO Is Ignoring Non-blocking Call

Hello,

I compiled Xephem V 3.4 on Linux version 2.2.16
and got the above error message when I tried to
connect to the telescope.
I executed make in the directory
XEphem.ShareDir/fifos (replaced by the correct directory).

If comment out the line
die(szName, "FIFO is ignoring non-blocking call");
in lx200xed.c I can read in the telescope's
position and display it.
