Searching for GRBs

The search for gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) began in the early 1960s, when the U.S. Air Force launched its first gamma-ray detector aboard a Vela satellite. Since that first milestone, various spacecraft have contributed to the current body of GRB knowledge.
