On March 25-27, 2016, Kyiv, Lviv, and Kharkiv hosted the international hackathon for the SpinOffHack students. The event in Kharkiv took place at Karazin University under the aegis of Global Logic, MacPaw, Grammarly and other companies.

Within three working days, the teams of students generated an idea on the topic of Device Mesh, designed its prototype and business model, and presented the results to the top-managers of IT-companies. The participants were consulted by mentors, namely experienced programmers, marketing experts, and analysts.

By the contest results, the first place was taken by the YADIS team with their safety-related system for drivers during long-term trips. A starlight camera analyses the driver’s condition: if it notices that a driver is going to fall asleep, it gives a signal that wakes him up, and directs him to the nearest night’s lodging.

The second place was given to the Ynot team with their app for CrossFit-training optimization, the third place — to the X-Lemma team with the app enabling you to create interior design by yourself taking into account all details.

Three winning teams received a monthly subscription to work in co-working spaces and an opportunity to perform on the demo day to be held in Dnipropetrovsk on April 23, 2016.
