The Department ofšPsychiatry, Narcology, Neurology and Medical Psychology was established atš2012.

Teaching staff: 3šMD, professor, 12šassociate professors, PhD, 17šassistant lecturers.

Educational activity: all the courses ofšthe department are provided with working programs, thematic plans, methodic instructions and tasks (including tests) for current and final monitoring ofšknowledge according tošthe requirments ofšECTS. Whole lecturing materials are taught byšthe instrumentality ofšmultimedia equipment and other secondary equipment. Teachers constantly create and use inšpractice electronic versions ofšeducational materials. Educational process includes such forms ofšlearning activity asšabstract onšthe most urgent topics, new classifications, methods ofšresearch and treatment recommendations ofšneuropsychiatric and drug abuse disorders; clinical discussion ofšcomplex and rare cases. All disciplines provide independent work ofšstudents atšclinical bases. The department operates student scientific society, students who are actively involved inšthe science department and implementation ofšlocal, national and international scientific conferences.

The department staff are the authors ofšover 850 publications inšnational and international periodicals and editions, including 8šmonographs, 21šrational suggestions, 1šinnovation, 72šmanuals for students ofšmedical Universities, internship doctors and general practitioners, 22šguidelines for students and internship doctors, 32šcertificate ofšauthorship and 12špatents ofšUkraine for utility model, co-authors ofš2štextbooks.

Department staff annually participate inšscientific conferences, congresses, conventions that take place inšUkraine, CIS countries and abroad.

Advisory activity: department staff advises patients inšhealth care facilities ofšKharkiv region onšthe specialties: Psychiatry, Narcology, Neurology, Psychotherapy, Sexual Pathology and Medical Psychology.

Atšthe moment byšthe guidance ofšthe head ofšthe department, MD, professor V.šI.šPonomaryov 1šMD and 12šPhD dissertations are being accomplished.

Clinical bases ofšthe department are: Military Medical Clinical Centre ofšNorthern region, Kharkiv Regional Clinical Narcological Hospital, the 1st Regional Children?s Clinical Hospital.
