Publications

Currently the Editorial Board of the Irish Astronomical Journal publishes a single publication.

The Irish Astronomical Journal (ISSN 0021-1052) is published as a general review of modern astronomical knowledge and related subjects. The contents will normally be such as to interest both the general reader and the specialist, as well as to give outlines of astronomical problems to scientists in other fields. The Journal is published twice a year; two issues normally published in January and July each year constitute one volume. An author and subject index is published every five volumes. An index of volumes 1 to 21 (1950-1994) is published in IAJ Volume 22 Number 1. A complete index of publications is also available by writing to the editorial address and is available on this WWW Server.

The Journal will consider for publication papers on all aspects of astronomy: observational, theoretical, instrumentation, technological and historical. Papers on related topics such as geophysics and climatology will also be considered. All publications remain copyright of the Irish Astronomical Journal. Application for permission to quote from this Journal should be addressed both to the authors concerned and the Editor-in-Chief of the IAJ. The opinions expressed in contributions to the journal are the responsibility of the authors and are not necessarily those of the publication committee.

Instructions for Authors containing information on the preparation of manuscripts for submission to the Journal are to be found in IAJ Volume 22 Number 1 in their complete form. These instructions are also available on this WWW Server. An abridged version of the Instructions can be found in each issue. A brief description of the types of publications is also given under the Submissions section of this Server.
