Welcome to the Hobbes OS/2 archives at hobbes.nmsu.edu!
You may access this site 24 hours-a-day, network conditions permitting.

hobbes.nmsu.edu contains the latest in IBM OS/2 shareware and freeware.

No warranties, expressed or implied, apply to any software or
information obtained from this site.

NMSU has no affliation or relationship with Walnut Creek, makers of
the Hobbes OS/2 CD-ROM.

This site contains these primary subdirectories:

/dos Useful OS/2-related DOS programs are located in this
subdirectory.
/java Programs written in and for Java
/multimedia Files located below this subdirectory are intended for
OS/2-related multimedia resource files (fonts, icon
collections, sound clips, etc.)
/new New additions to the Internet OS/2 archives are
crosslisted here for a short time. Look for that latest
bit of just-released software in this directory.
/os2 Files located below this subdirectory are all OS/2-only
archives.
/windows Useful OS/2-related Windows programs are located in this
subdirectory.

Subdirectories below each of these are arranged by category. Files
are often crosslisted in different directories for convenience.

Since the hobbes.nmsu.edu OS/2 archive depends on volunteer submission of
OS/2 software and information, you are encouraged to contribute any files
that are not already located here. Put these new files in the directory
/incoming, making sure that any necessary documentation accompanies them.
Use a common archive format (e.g. ZIP) and transfer in "binary" or "tenex"
mode (see below).

You may also retrieve files in /incoming that others have just recently
submitted, but be aware that such files have not undergone any testing.
When approved by the maintainer of this archive, new files will be moved to
their proper places in the archives. (For full submission guidelines, please
consult the file /incoming/README.POLICY)

To locate a particular file on hobbes.nmsu.edu, please retrieve (in ASCII
mode) the /00index.txt file. This file contains a complete listing,
with one line descriptions, of all tested archives. /00indexd.txt is a
duplicate version of /00index.txt with time & date stamps.

Files stored on hobbes.nmsu.edu are normally in the latest Zip archive
format (as binary files), although some information files are stored in
ASCII. An OS/2 version of UnZip (and the corresponding Zip utility) can be
found in /os2/archivers).

When transfering binary files (Zip or otherwise) from hobbes.nmsu.edu,
be sure to use your ftp software's "binary" or "tenex" mode.

Note that while OS/2 runs both DOS and Windows software exceedingly
well, hobbes.nmsu.edu is not intended to duplicate the contents of the
Internet's fine DOS and Windows archives. Please see the README files
located in /dos and /windows, respectively, for information on the
location of Internet DOS and Windows archive sites.

While hobbes.nmsu.edu is open to all users at all hours (excepting any
system or network outages), if you are accessing these sites from outside
North America you may wish to consult one of our mirrors located on other
continents. The hobbes.nmsu.edu archives are located on the campus of the
New Mexico State University.

If you are having difficulty retrieving files from hobbes.nmsu.edu, please
ask your local system administrator for assistance. If you still require
