The Organizing Co mmittee cordially invites you to take part in The First International Symposium on Space Education and University Satellites (UNIVERSAT-2006) which will be held in Moscow, Russian Federation, on June 26-30, 2006 in Lo monosov Moscow State Universit y. GENERAL INFORMATION
The First International Symposium on Space Education will take place in Moscow from June 26 to 30, 2006. This meeting will be hosted by Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics and it will have format of a large conference sponsored by Lomonosov Moscow State University.

CONFERENCE SITE
The UNIVERSAT-2006 will take place in the lecture hall and other facilities of Moscow State University.

OBJECTIVES OF THE MEETING
UNIVERSAT-2006 will cover a wide variety of topics centered around the theme "Space Education and University Satellites", and is meant to inform the entire university and space-interested community on the new initiatives in space science education and students satellites construction and development. We hope to be able to provide an


overview of the state of the art at the beginning of the new century and, to this end, a number of the key topics has been identified. These will be discussed in successi ve half-day sessi ons in invited reviews and contributions, selected by the SPC and the conveners. In order to allow the participants to follow all presentations, there will be no parallel sessi ons. The key topics are listed below within the session : I. Space Sciences University Education 1. REGISTRATION and CALL FOR PAPERS
Participants should register electronically through the UNIVERSAT-2006 Meeting web site before March 20, 2006. The Meeting will consist of invited and selected papers and poster papers. Final selection (as an invited oral contribution or as a poster) is the responsibility of the IAC, which will decide on the basis of the submitted abstract and your preferences. You are invited to submit contributions in the whole area of space education, including space sciences and technology applications. The book of abstracts will be distributed to the conference participants upon arrival, at the registration desk. The proceedings of the meeting will be published. Instructions for preparing the camera-ready papers will be given in the Final Announcement. Deadline for the abstract submission and registration is March 20, 2006. Authors will be notified on the acceptance of their papers as oral or poster before April 10, 2006.

LANGUAGE
English will be the official languages of the meeting.

REGISTRATION FEE, FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND SPONSORSHIP
The SPC and LOC are looking for sponsors to cover the registration fees of those participants who are not able to cover it on their own. The amount of the registration fee is going to be announced before April 10, 2006.

ACCOMMODATION and CLIMATE
Accommodation will be available on-site and in a range of hotels and student hostels. Weather in Moscow in June is usually pleasant: the temperature reaches 20 - 30 C easily. Nights are cooler; rain, if any, should not last long. You are advised to bring light casual clothes, and a sweater or jacket for the evenings outdoors.

VISA


Most of UNIVE RSAT-2006 participants will need a visa to enter the Russian Federation. Please contact Russian Embassy or Consulate well in advance of the Conference dates. The LOC will send the Official Invitation Letters (the only document providing the possibility to apply for visa) to those participants who indicate the necessit y for it in their registration. Please take into account that LOC needs about 2 months to provide this Official Invitation Letter. For those who need the invitation letters confirming their participation in the UNIVERSAT-2006 meeting for other purposes (like funding or booking) the letters of such kind will be easily issued on the request.
